Hello everyone! 2009 has started and it's already Feb :)
I was looking thru my old sermon notes today and I came across one of Pastor Phil Pringle's sermon on Servanthood, so I thought it'll be good to share it with you guys!
Jesus said in Matthew 20:28 "Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many." If Jesus can serve, we too should serve as we want to grow to be more like Him :)
There are 7 Qualities of Servanthood:
#1. Willing
It is said very frequently in cg or during church service that we serve others not because we are told to, but because we want to :) Get willing in the things we do, and serve the people around us with a bright smile!
#2. Excellence
Be the best, do the best! Do things wholeheartedly and the best we can :) Being sloppy isn't good ):
#3. Swift
Be quick in the things you do, and don't keep people waiting. :)
#4. Respectful
Honor EVERYONE! (Even those you don't like!) Honor has the power to greatly enhance your life :)
#5. Humble
Do WHATEVER it takes to get the job done... go the extra mile!
#6. Works Hard
Don't be lazy and procrastinate, thus pushing the job for another day. Get cracking once you have a job to do :)
#7. Unselfish
Doing things for others at your own expense instead of making yourself "look good" :) It means to serve others even though you know that you might not get anything back in return.
Let's all be a person that serves... just like how Jesus has come to the world to serve :) It can be meeting up with a member or a new friend before service and go to church together, or even giving a cup of water to someone!
Keep on keeping on for the Lord and let's grow more and more like Jesus everyday yeah :)
